It is impossible to remain the same and be unchanged, when the manifest POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT presents saving grace. Apparently, we’ve grown so accustomed to being “without” HIS POWER, that few if any notice.
The biggest challenge of ANY preacher EVERY TIME, in ANY culture of ANY TIME, is that the people, those under the sound of his/her voice, apply the Word of God to their lives in their thinking and behavior. Even the Apostle Paul, Peter, and Jesus had some who would not listen! Is it possible that some good seed was dropped in their hearts to bear fruit later??

Ah the expectations that we have; who knows the weight and burdens that B. Hill was carrying that night? Jesus sat down and taught his listeners, the Holy Ghost is a teacher and a comforter not one to cause sparks and fire to fly.
“No one changed by it”. I’ve preached messages that I thought when I was done, wow, no one was changed by it. Only to find out a few days later through the testimony of others, how the message had impacted their lives and caused them to “change.” I’ve never seen Tim Hill perform, however, I had the privilege to sit under him as my pastor for many years. I got to see his heart for the flock. I’ve seen the power of the Holy Spirit operate in his ministry. His influence on my life and the messages he preached and still preaches today have always made an impact on my life. I’m glad that while many can say they think this or that about him, I can say with full confidence what I know about him. I love Bishop Hill and fully believe that the decisions he makes in regards for the COG are made after much prayer and fasting.
Gary, i had read this earlier but considered the source of the ‘sharer’. I think the audience listening to a sermon sometines has the mindset ‘ move me if you can’ and with that mindset they won’t and can’t be moved. It’s not the messenger, it’s the listener.
One evening many years ago in a revival I conducted in Shawnee, Oklahoma, I was very disappointed in the way I thought the preaching had gone! Since I’d really touched the LORD in prayer that day for the service that evening, I was expecting to preach like I was preaching a campmeeting (in a powerful/demonstrable way)! Well, it certainly didn’t go that way! Instead, I had a very difficult time trying to preach! When I finished the message, I just gave an altar call and got down on my knees to pray (mostly for myself, because I was sort of embarrassed and feeling rather sorry for myself). However, after everyone had left the church except one lady, I learned an important lesson! She said, “Bro. Pryor, I want you to know that I’ve enjoyed all of your messages; but I received more out of the message this evening than from any of the other messages!” I felt like asking her just what it was that she had received, but I didn’t. God let me know very plainly that evening that He would anoint me as He chooses — not as I choose! So, from that time on I’ve left the results of my ministry to God and give Him the glory for whatever is accomplished!
In all fairness to Rev. Tim Hill, I feel like saying some things. I first met Tim Hill quite a number of years ago when he was the night speaker at the Texas Campmeeting. I have spoken to him at various services where he has ministered since them. The last time I heard Dr. Tim Hill sing and preach was at the Western North Carolina Campmeeting. He ministered under a very powerful anointing which can be verified by a few hundred ministers and others that were in the services! The Holy Ghost moved in a mighty way each night! So, for some anonymous person to even hint that Rev. Hill was involved in (or has ever needed to resort to) any kind of “performance” (acting) is not only unfair to him, but is also very disrespectful and insulting to his character! The person who sent the message (contained in this post) to the administrator of this forum and the administrator himself (for posting it) both owe Rev. Tim Hill an apology, because what they have done is a shame!
