There use to be a point years ago where I would ask the person cussing to try to speak without cussing so much and normally it worked. But now-a-days it seems cussing is just accepted and expected. People do know that I am a Pastor and after they cuss some do apologize, but I do get tired of hearing it and I wish just for one day not to hear a single cuss word.
Charles, I must say some things about this post! It’s nice to be told that you are appreciated, if the whole truth is also told about you! Some of your statements and the photo can be misleading! You mentioned my name first, but post the photo of someone else without any explanation! That’s unacceptable behavior — including the fact that the photo was staged/chosen to bring a bad image and attitude against that person! Also, you included me as someone you have muted; but, I believe you are incorrect about that! You’ve never even given me a strike 3 (you’re out)! And, as far as my going on and on, it has only been when 2 or 3 of your regular back ups/supporters have joined in with their (often, very rude) comments to try to refute my comments! Yes, then it takes quite awhile trying to reply to more than one person at a time! Also, I don’t recall your telling any of your supporters that have gone on and on to discontinue doing so — or, your muting any of them???
Since Charles admitted on another post that he doesn’t do very well at times with wording things, I think a clarification needs to be made concerning something he said in this post that included me. He said I stand “toe to toe and nose to nose with him”. If he actually meant that I stand “up to” or “against” him regarding most of his posts, then he is correct. I definitely don’t want viewers to think I agree “with” him and his attitude in general towards the Church of God organization! Also, he mentioned my name in this post as one of two “elderly ministers” who “get out of hand”. Ha! If by this he means that I disagree with his posts and comments a lot, then I would have to plead guilty! Also, it’s actually humorous for Charles to say “when I reach their age” — including me in that remark! If anyone would look at our profile photos, they might think that Charles doesn’t have far to go until he will be as old as I am! Ha!

I noticed that one of their statements of faith was; ” We believe that holiness is God’s standard of living for His people.”
What we defined as holiness from 1950 and back may well need to be re-defined and carefully explained. Lacking that it only looks like compromise and yielding to culture. This explaining and reasoning should start at the top level and work it’s way throughout the denomination.

In so far as the Clean Power Plan “serve[s] and protect[s] God’s creation”, “encourages…[folks] to act with care, diligence, and responsibility towards the earth”, and is a “reasonable effort to care for the earth”, it would seem the answer is “no”. The CoG does not support the repeal of the Clean Power Plan, if the Clean Power Plan exhibits cares for creation (see the “Care of Creation [2008]” resolution: http://www.churchofgod.org/resolutions/care-of-the-creation-2008), and from what I can tell, the Clean Power Plan does, in fact, support care of creation.
Also, it would seem that the CoG thinks that environmental issues /ARE/ spiritual issues. If the CoG is correct about that, then one of your options is a false dichotomy.
