Here is a true story (certainly not gossip) that shows how Gen Hdqters felt about the Brock brothers. I was at a gathering of officials after a service in which Steve preached a sermon about the coming of the Lord. I was standing with E.C. Thomas and Steve, drinking COG “wine” from small dixie cups and Steve was fishing for a compliment from E. C.and without breaking a blue eyed stare E. C. said, “Steve, you don’t know the coming of the Lord from a hole in the ground!” I had to hold my cup with two hands!
