I’m still not one to run to the doctor first. I am 78 and in perfect health though I’ve done nothing to gain that health. I’m not against doctors but I get tired of hearing people talk about their illnesses, test and proceedures and the doctors they see. I’m thankful!!

In our local church, a lot of them think the new birth and receiving the Holy Spirit are the same. Not much being preached about the seperate works of sanctification and Baptism in the Holy Ghost.
I’d heard that at one time demons plaqued the college kids way back when, and they were delivered.
Was in many meetings with Vep Ellis, including after he went with Oral Roberts.
Vep Ellis was our pastor in Tampa when I was just a grade school child. I think everybody leaned to sing where they hadn’t sung before. I know a great deal of my knowledge of music came from him. A wonderful family and he had more family who lived near us right on when Vep had to leave us.
Did you ever hear the sermons about the curses against Cain and Ham (Canaan)?
It was not just the Church of God, but the Assemblies of God more so.
It was all protestant denominations particularly conservative denominations ie SBC etc
There was only one Pentecostal Evangelist who preached strong against Segregation and that was Pentecostal Evangelist A. A. Allen.
I was literally shocked to hear President Lyndon B Johnson make derogatory statements about the black person. I had always thought good of President Johnson and was very surprised his recorded statements.
Here in Memphis Adrian Rogers was a strong segregationist.
being raised in Middle Tennessee I was raised in strong racism of the South. I was placed into an integrated institution, U.S. Army.
