  1. Charles please think before you open your mouth. Opening yourself up for trouble. So many people get offended. I myself believe in totally equal. No matter what nationality you are we were all created equal & we were all made in the image of God. Maybe you should come to Sumiton Church of God and you would see what a wonderful congreg ation that truly loves each regardless of the color of skin. Wanda.

  2. Sounded like you were based on your opinion as usual. Just don’t be surprised if someone gets offended. They get offended at the least of things my friend. I have an urgent unspoken request. Need God to move now. God bless

  3. I recall during the time of the Study Commission, we met in French Lick, Indiana. In this meeting, it was stated everything was open, no secrets whatsoever. My good friend, Tony Scott posed his question to the General Overseer at that time, Rev Dr Ray H Hughes, Sr. Dr Hughes was also a good friend of mine. However, Dr Hughes refused to answer Tony’s question. Tony’s question was, “What was the salary of the General Overseer?” So it is such a difference between the early 1980s and that of 1949. There is nothing that concerns so many ministers than the fact of a non-disclosure. And then, there is also the danger of so many that would use the salary of a church official to speak against and hinder the work of the church.

  4. It should be obvious/reasonable that the Church of God organization does not need to, nor should it, be “transparent” and disclose its financial structure to people who aren’t willing to commit themselves by becoming a member of the Church of God and supporting it!

  5. I guess the real issue at hand is the fact no one knows what the salaries and extra benefits are for Church officials, yet the local Pastor, striving to build his congregation, is to strictly adhere to a salary schedule that church officials designate; even though salaries of church officials are never revealed, that is not since 1949. Are we not all in this work of God together?

  6. it will take years before some local COG in African will be able to pay salaries to their full time Pastors. reasons are many. Lack of teaching on Tithes/offerings, poor income of the members, wars and displacement, no funding for investment of local church members in Agriculture and other income generation activities, lack of funding to train members and jobless youth to acquire skills and knowledge in technical fields like Carpentry, electricity, Buildings and wielding. Let’s hear your views on this matters how to make the African COG self a sustainable.

  7. Charles what do American missionaries means by giving an Africans Church leader a dry and ready fish without teaching them how to fish for them self the fresh one?
