What if Reformed Theology is right?

Acts20.com NEW Acts-Celerate

Let’s say we get to Heaven and we discover Calvin had it right. Will that bother you? Will you be angry that you are in Heaven because God by his grace regenerated you with his Spirit so you could repent and turn to Christ, because you were one of the elect? Will you consider God to be unjust because it turned out that unsaved friend or loved one you prayed so hard for could not be saved because they were not of the elect?Panic not. I have not embraced this view. I do, however, have respect for many who do hold to this view. I’d like to hear some thoughts from those on Actscelerate on this topic________________

  1. Be careful about asking questions. I was always told that I was being rebellious whenever I asked questions and was even accused of being heretical when preaching about the grace of God.

  2. I stand firmly behind what I said in spite of your incorrect representation of what I said.

“”Rachel Held Evans has had a great impact upon the Church of God’s liberal feminism and anti-Trump hatred.””

  3. A wiser man than I once said. If ignorance or not hearing would get you to heaven then it would be better to never go and tell them because some won’t receive the gospel. That’s what makes the great commission GREAT.

  4. I believe that Rachel is saying a person who doesn’t believe does so because they don’t have the opportunity to believe. A person who has an opportunity to believe and doesn’t believe is certainly hell bound.

Yes there are persons who don’t have opportunity nor capacity to believe.

  5. Amen amen! They are hard to find any more. I just hunger for the move of God at church. Guess I’ll just have to keep having it at home and go to church for music.

  6. So so true. Never seen a time as this .church’s are full of Luke warm people. Sad really sad nobody wants the real power of God anymore.

  7. Sylvia and Mike, I’m sorry you both feel the way you do! I invite you to attend the Church of God in East Laurinburg, North Carolina if you want to experience the real/genuine “power of God”! My wife and I have been blessed by the wonderful presence of God in every service we have attended there!

  8. My mother and father met, married and were burned in the Pontiac COG. She never even wore a wedding ring even after having four children.

  9. My mother never wore a wedding ring, she said the 9 kids her and dad had were proof enough. Best COG woman i ever knew. She didn’t think it was wrong but that is what the church taught and thats the way it was for her. She is 91 and still does not wear one.

  10. I wasn’t born into the CoG but rather got saved in 1992 at the Dallas CoG in NC. I was brought in under the old teachings and still hold to them today. I have no plans on changing.

  11. Good post. I am definitely not perfect. I have been in the Church Of God all my life. I guess the church was wrong all those years on what they taught since everything today is allowed. I know God didn’t change the beliefs. The church changed.
