I got pumped reading the thread about AA Alan. Yesterday was my day off so I watched a few hours of video from days gone by. A.A. Alan, Jack Coe and Oral Roberts.I well remember these days even though I did not know some of the greats in the day. While growing up I went to a few T.L. Lowery meetings and watched Oral Roberts on TV.I read God’s Generals. I cannot explain why some were so strange, even the author, but I have no doubt they were used of God.They get much criticism on Actscelerate. Dont’ quite understand that either. If you were alive when Peter denied knowing Jesus or if you saw the disciple arguing over who would sit at Jesus’ right side would you have attended their next Tent Crusade? Probably not.I personally miss these times.I do not understand why things seem to happen in cycles. Example the Brownsville Revival to me, was the greatest Christian event that I have experienced. Yet it came to a sudden close after a few years. And why Steve Hill died only a few years after the revival. Some, no many things I just do not understand. And I will not understand in the by and by, because then it will not matter to me.BTW, I am not so naive to realize there are fakes. I just stay away from those who I think to be fake________________Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com
Bro is better
Bro Pastor, Bro Overseer – but not bishop nor reverend
Non issue
I am some what embarrassed to use the title bishop. seems too Catholic and high church. It is a pretentious title as is Reverend.
You need to go all the way and wear a clerical robe and collar!
and…buy a doctoral degree
I don’t really like it. I think they took it from the black people as much as from Timothy. I think they did it to distinglish between men and women too., however black lady ministers sometimes take the title for themselves.
Dont like it. Prefer Pastor.
I don’t think we titles before or after the name besides Brother or Sister because Christians are one family
I believe it’s borderlining Phariseeticalism by doing so.
Seems to me that people are seeking titles to be identified with more than anything. Should we identify Jesus as Bishop Jesus instead if Lord Jesus?
