  1. Church History proves that once a church goes liberal, it never returns. There will never be a revival to bring it back. It just gets marked down as another denomination in the books. All of this usually occurs when a denomination reaches 100 years (its 3rd generation). What does God do? Church History tells you that God simply starts another church, a people who are committed to Him and He raises them up with a great Revival. Don’t believe me? Read Church History yourself. The facts are there. It is just a shame and most heart breaking to see a church you were a part of for most of your life, a church you loved and dedicated your life to for many years, go in a wrong direction. My heart really goes out to the older ministers and church members who have sacrificed so much to see it end this way. But you know what? We all know how the Methodist people felt when it happened to them. And the list can go on and on. All we have today are memories of the church that we once were a part of. But let’s keep those memories, but it is time that we move on into what God is preparing. Just remember, Jesus is coming back for a Church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing. I encourage everyone to live close to the Lord, even if you have to encourage yourself in the Lord as David of old did. Maintain holiness standards and live upright before God at all times. Do your best for God and God will bless you. I hope to see everyone in heaven. God bless you all.

  2. No, there is no room for holiness people with biblical standards in the church today. In fact, true holiness people are looked down upon, ridiculed, mocked and laughed at. Oh yes, the modern church still wants your tithe, your attendance, your participation, but not your sinless perfection theology called “entire sanctification.”

  3. “5. “The Lost Link” was published in 1920. Written by the elder Spurling, the book “speaks concerning the fall into apostasy of the Church established by Jesus Christ and of the rise of the dark ages,” according to the description on Amazon.com. The author’s purpose was to restore the Church of God of the Bible, and he also discusses the cause of denominationalism and division among churches and the call for Christian union.”

What happened to the restoration? It would seem that there has been a “replacement”, in reference to the 2016 minutes. Seems to me that the slide is always in a downward direction. Most unfortunate that the passion that Elder Spurling had was not retained down through the years, much To the COG’ loss.
