I thought I’d point that out in case you folks haven’t made your choice of songs yet. I think I’ve heard two recent Christmas songs that say that Jesus was born in a manger.It sure would have been cruel to squeeze a pregnant woman into a feed trough to make her give birth. I don’t know why song writers who don’t know farm terminology don’t just read the text before writing the song. Jesus was laid in a manger after he was born________________

Who knows how big that manger might have been? What was the alternative, the floor, a milking stool, a pile of hay?

My son, when he was a right smart littler than he is now sung is song bout tha donkey all shaggy an brown an tha cow all white an red an tha sheep with the curly horn. Tha song was about what ever critter gave as told by tha critter hisself. I was just wonderin if at was how it really happened.
