Just heard Kenneth W. Hagin preachin on DayStar. He was talkin bout believing God for the impossible. He was sayin that we gotta speak into our life what we aint got. Now, in the course a his monologue, he got a little excited an said, Hey, I used to have to set up here an preach, but now I gotta brand new knee [knee replacement surgery] an I can move around a little. So then the ole timer’s cognizance commenced operatin. Are we supposed to pray for healing? Are we supposed to claim whats already been provided in the atonement an is guaranteed 100% a the time? You know, the finished work.Or, are we supposed to pray fer the right surgeon to give us a good knee replacement surgery?
Looks like emphasis being put on the things that glorifies ones self, more than the manifestation of the Power of the Holy Ghost. Apostle Paul said he came not in man’s wisdom and excellency of speech. Paul definitely knew man’s wisdom, But he did not use them, but used the Power of the Holy Ghost. You can’t use the Power if you do not have the Power.
Loved that man!
To bad!!!!
No one calls us that these days. Are we still holy?
Has anyone seen anybody roll in the Spirit?
I am a mere 52 years of age, yet when I was but a young lad up to 10 or so, I witnessed men worshippers running at incredible speeds and often found rolling in the wood shavings of various tent revivals! Women often shouted in motion stationary and hair pins were strown everywhere. As a very young child it was my chore to pick up and sort by shades and shapes those pins. But “holy rollers” was gladly received and worn as a badge of honor respectively! And ‘proud’ or more ‘reserved’ and somewhat more ‘dignified’ men would often testify after the fact that they had vowed to themselves before God that they would ‘never’ do that – but miraculously did just that! At age eight I was baptized locally in the Scoggins pond by the late Rev. TL Phillips. Young evangelists, namely Rev. Buddy Brewer, Rev. Sammy Hughes and Brother Woodrow Morgan preached and officiated these tent meetings throughout Bradley county and hundreds of whole families were converted and baptized in that same old country pond! We were never mindful nor ashamed of the ‘operation’ of sincere worship and its various expressions thereof. On occasion some ‘mistakenly’ wore their best clothes – sometimes a suit yet without notice or premeditation fell to the floor speaking in tongues and rolling in the saw dust! These are cherished childhood memories. Thanks for bringing them to mind and letting me share them. Proud of my heritage. God knows how to save to the uttermost! Expressions and demonstrations of worship will invariably change but Jesus is the same and His Spirit causes worshipers to love one another! Spirit born – Truth nature worship is all that matters! For we have been made partakers of His holiness and divine nature whereby we love everybody! Selah 777
