  1. It is the fault of the men of the COG to follow scripture on the subject. They failed to address feminism as it infiltrated the church.

One of the issues has been the example of co-pastoral leadership.
It has diminished the role of the Scriptural husband and wife.

  2. In discussions with COG people, it just seems like many of them are a bit ‘liberal’ for Pentecostal Fundamentalists when it comes to the issue of wives submitting to their husbands. I wonder how much of that is recent and how much is historical.

  3. I think it is resent beginning with the secular feminist movement which is not so recent

conservative fundamental independent baptist are a 10 on a scale of 1 – 10 for wives being submissive. What would COG be in that scale?

  4. Well to be honest, I have to question the hair. “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?” – 1 Corinthians 11:15 (KJV)

  5. Bubba Rodgers, It doesn’t say it is a sin. Maybe he’s trying to look like what he things Jesus looked like, based on film, but decided to shave his cheeks, and just got a bit too old to pull it off.

Was John Wesley sanctified? What about his hair?

  6. No sir, I didn’t say it was a sin. I just made a statement and gave my opinion. But on HOLINESS, you would think he would not let his hair grow out. And I just gave what scriptures say.

  7. I don’t believe so. Many Englishmen were effeminate in their dress. We have the same thing today among men.

No, it is not a sin, not an issue of eternal salvation but it is a shame and a disgrace.
Sanctification often is not directed toward sins but faults. (we don’t like to say that.)

  8. 1 Corinthians 11:14-16
Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

God I really do love context and the way it gives understanding to customs.

You said in the OP that you
“Believe he is born again and on his way to heaven”,
Then you asked if he was sanctified wholly and was biblically holy.

Well, I don’t see how he could be one without the other,,,,
    Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
