  1. I Thessalonians 4:3(a) states, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification.” We are commanded to “Purify ourselves even as He is pure.”

  2. Many want to ask questions in regard to Jesus, but God speaks through the Apostle Paul’s writings as well. Paul says to “Put off” in Ephesians 4:22(f). The CoG has stated that “We believe in the whole Bible, with the NT as our only rule for government and discipline.” We are a holiness people because we are commanded by God to be holy. A person may be a good person, but they are not holy. A person may be a good friend, in fact, one of our best friends, but they can still be unholy. The fact remains, “Without holiness, you are not going to make it.”

  3. The CoG Minutes Book for many years stated, “The wearing of jewelry for ornament or decoration shall be made a test of membership.”

  4. the gifts of the Spirit serve to exhort encourage and edify, thanks Jim.

I have been re-shelving my bookshelves and came across several I thought you might have an interest. Books about Appalachian life that I have kept.

  5. The younger ministers are usually sent to the weaker less mature churches. It is these churches that most need the exhorter, the cheerleader, the coach that believes you can win. I made the mistake of switching to quick to doctrine to prophecy and end-time theories. A novice can do harm with these topics on the other hand churches can take a lot of creative encouragement!

  6. You’re right, it is his group. But if he’s gonna run it the way he does, he needs to change the name. This is as far away from an open forum as you can get.

  7. I am thinking about leaving it also. It is Charles’ page, but I don’t agree with his views and his constant judgment against our Church leaders.
