For the first time since being at my church almost two years now -I left tonight’s council meeting discouraged.I feel that I either havent communicated the vision well enough or that what people have said all along – that my church has no vision…Could really use some prayer today! Well i don’t feel there is anything wrong with using something of this manner to enjoy the “wealth” of others! We are to take our christian beliefs with us wherever & whenever we are living our lives! This is part of God’s blessings to servants of God!
The church does not need the wealth of the rich the poor do!!!
Normally Jim, I would delete this post since it is not directed to “Church of God” but I’ll add a comment to tie it to CoG.
When I was at Lee I occasionally attended NCCOG and T. L. Lowery’s ushers kept a seat in the front row opened for a rich man from Cincinnati who would fly his private plane to Chattanooga and T. L.’s men would pick him up by car and bring him to church. I remember he was late and arrived in a white suit and with great fanfare was escorted down the isle to his seat.
Wonderful.
Revival starts in each individual personally. U can’t make people do anything. It takes the holy spirit. One other thing, tents r a thing of the past. Why would anyone go to a tent when we have nice churches? It’s not where u r, it’s what u r! That was one strange song lyric….none of your business???
It’s not my style of music. So therefore I would fold my arms and sit there and refuse to acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit. I would withhold my tithes and then go home and watch a televangelist. And support their ministry. Oh wait, that’s what you said folks are doing to the “modern” Church.
Pat Fretwell, many of our churches have turned modern. You will find that people go where they can feel the Spirit of God, regardless if a service is held under a tent or not.
The singing voice reminded me a bit of Johnny Cash!

I’m suprised that i wasnt blurred when God got ahold of me and I took off around that place
God does great things. I couldn’t tell if you was for it or not. I thought there was some great services down through there.
This issue suffers from the lack of “reasoned feedback” of the Church of God media.
This is an agenda item up for discussion by the general council and passed on to the general assembly for vote.
Yet the church is seemingly told how to vote rather than be informed about the voting process. Thus three elements are being resisted: the mind of the people, the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the instruction of scripture.
Father in the Name of your Son Jesus, I pray for this precious pastor. I ask you to give him faith to believe for great things to happen at that church. I ask You to give those on his council a vision to win their community.I ask you to encourage my brother regardless to what anyone else says or does. Help his faith to be big enough to overcome any obstacle that the enemy may place in his path.Help him to love those people regardless to how they think. They are Your children and help him to see them as Your children. Help him to see them as Brothers and Sisters.
