A President cannot do much about abortion to begin with. Appointing judges that won’t continue to perpetuate the myth that the Constitution guarantees the right to abort your unborn children is about the only contribution he can make. Trump will do his part by appointing Scalia type judges. He picked the right kind of Vice-President (who had endorsed Cruz) after all the Never-Trumpers swore he was going to choose a liberal, or even a Democrat to be his running mate. Why then should I think he will appoint a liberal judge to the bench?If you Christians really want to do something about abortion, then start electing Governors and State Representatives who will invoke Article V and call for a convention of the States. Even then the best we will probably get is a Constitutional Amendment allowing the States to choose for themselves on the abortion issue, unless 38 States show a willingness to ban abortion all together. I’m pretty sure the president can make a big difference with veto power. I can see congress passing a bill to defund planned murderhood and Trump vetoing it because he thinks PP does a lot of good. There will be no trade war with China because they will back down. Repeal and replace will be a State issue, as will gay marriage. Trump is not running on nationalizing gay marriage. What is your experience with China? My brother was an underground missionary there for over a year and I’ve studied Chinese politics for a while. Their new president is a hardliner Nationalistic Maoist and it is a matter of honor with those guys to not back down to the west. The church situation is VERY much part of the Chinese nationalism that we’re seeing. They believe Christianity is a western influence and it falls in with their China-first rhetoric. Whenever they have an open government, the Church does well, the opposite occurs as they go the other way.

That was not the point of my post. The point is a Republican president should be able to express his desire to protect the lives of the unborn. He should be able to articulate the sanctity of that unborn baby. He may never be able to change the laws and may never be able to get five of the Supreme Court Justices to overturn Roe-V-Wade, but I would like to hear a President say those babies are precious and then speak with moral clarity about the blessing of adoption. He could then follow up with laws and regulations that would encourage ministries and other institutions to open adoption agencies. (Do you know how difficult it is to adopt a child?)I wish he would have looked straight into that camera and said young ladies, please listen to me. I understand some of you have gotten pregnant and for whatever reason you feel you cannot continue with your pregnancy and you are thinking of terminating it. Please don’t. Thousands of your fellow Americans would love to have that child and will give it a good home. And you will never have to deal with the guilt associated with abortion. You can do the right thing and as your president I will make it easier for you to have your child adopted by a loving family.
