The COG believes that sanctification is subsequent to the new birth so are there people born again but are not sanctified________________

  1. Sanctification is soteriological in essence. One is saved. One is being saved. One will be ultimately saved.

  2. Well put, OTCP________________[Jesus] will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. – Nicene Creed

  3. 1 Thess 5:23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be

  4. If sanctification is just something that some believers experience, is it normal for ‘regular believers’ who don’t get sanctified, to fornicate? Is Paul saying that, after you get saved, to go up at an altar call and receive an instant experience of sanctification, and then stop sleeping with your girlfriend? Here is another one to consider.

  5. Brad,How would you define the difference between spirit and soul________________[Jesus] will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. – Nicene Creed

  6. Brad,How would you define the difference between spirit and soul? Thanks PWSoul – psuche (mind, will, emotions)Spirit – pneuma (breath, wind)For me the clearest way to understand it is to use the foreshadowing of the tabernacle. Here’s a brief thought or two on how that 3 room house of God foreshadowed our 3 room house of God.Outer court (outer man) – bodyInner court (inner man) – soulHoliest place (innermost being) – spirit Outer court – body, it’s the only area visible and uncovered.Inner court required renewing, re-filling, daily bread, fresh coals.Holiest place was lit by God, holy, perfect________________I’m not saved because I’m good. 7. Sanctification is bigger than that which can be discussed in a few words in a post. I submit the following terms for discussion:Initial sanctificationPositional sanctificationPractical sanctificationSanctification as a crisis experienceSanctification as a processEach term comes with it’s own set of questions and answers. Most of the time the focus is on one aspect of sanctification alone, to the exclusion of all others. That’s the reason the Church of God and the Assemblies of God have never been able to agree on the doctrine. I believe each one is right in the point they embrace, and both are wrong in the exclusion of the other’s point of view.Just some nearly incoherent rambling here, but then I’m not judged to be sane by most folks anyway. lo________________
