Serious Question: Does the COG teach you can pray in the Spirit?

Acts20.com NEW Acts-Celerate

Also, if it does, Do YOU pray in the Spirit? If not, why not?ANDWhat is your understanding then of 1Co 14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 1Co 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

  1. I thank God that I pray in the spirit more than ye all.Well, more than Aaron Scott. Not sure about the rest of you.But COG does not teach all tongues must be interpreted________________

  2. I have been in the COG all my life and never heard that all tongues should be interpreted. However personally, I think they should, if done in public, else what would be the reason, just the ‘sign’, possible. I ain’t smart enough to know.JMO________________Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

  3. I thought I had a clear understanding but someone recently reiterated what I had previously heard (but didn’t believe) regarding the COG teaching that ALL tongues MUST be interpreted, ergo eliminating the ability or practice of praying in the Spirit individually. BTW 27, your link doesn’t really answer my initial question. Initial evidence is great but not if people cannot continue to use that devotional tongue. THe Gift of Tongues is similar in practice but is different from the evidential tongue and subsequent use of same as a prayer language. The Gift of Tongues MUST be interpreted in order to benefit the hearers whereas the one who prays in the Spirit edifies himself according to 1 Cor.14.

  4. Other tongues is not the only way to pray in the Spirit. I have prayed with all the unction of tongues, etc. while praying in English.
