Over the last year, Charles has written several times about how CoG women wear their hair, usually relating it to holiness. I’m nor sure that we men should have an opinion about ladies hair styles but visiting an office yesterday made me think about it all over again. It was a busy place and I had to wait 30 minutes or so, most of the women who worked in the place as well as the customers seemed to be middle class.
Of the 25 or so women I observed there were as many different hair-do’s. Some had long hair down to the middle of their back, two or three had very short hair while most were in between. One of the professional’s had so much hair that she had it bunched up on her head, it would have made a good ostriches nest. I’m sure that she must have been very frustrated that nature had given her too much hair. Two of the ladies had very thin hair, they probably wished for more. A half dozen looked as if they had rushed out of the house and had only given their hair a lick and a promise.
Then I tried to think about which of the women I would be most inclined to listen to if they wanted to talk to me about my soul and about eternal matters. For me it would have been those with shoulder length hair that was well managed and they looked like they had life under control.
I apologise to you ladies if you think that am intruding into your territory but as an old man I am just making an observation. No intrusion intended.
