This donation is in your name to honor you for your relentless fight in the preservation of free speech in the United States. Let us pray that this money helps us further the dismantling of white supremacy – whether in places like Charlottesville or Ferguson, or close to home, in our local churches and bathroom mirrors. Such intolerant actions and speech must not continue to exist lest our country abandon its commitments to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These maxims cannot live cooperatively with socioeconomic inequities and oppression afforded to black Americans from birth, limiting their pursuits of happiness, with oppressive power in government and society stripping away their liberties, and with a prejudiced law enforcement affine to unjustly robbing them of their lives.
