Acts20.com NEW Acts-Celerate

These are the last days, spiritually speaking, for the church to touch this world for God. However, the general Pentecostal church has been greatly influenced by the Charismatic Movement. Here is a video of the type of services that have totally changed a good number of CoG preachers and church members (especially those of the younger age group) to go another direction, which is not of God. Notice their tongues sticking out, their eyes and other physical manifestations. What is it? It’s demons. What do you think?

  1. Nothing wrong with fire tunnels you immediately call things satanic when it’s not. I’m charismatic nothing wrong with it. You can be both and you should learn about something before you demonized it. I assure I know who the Holy Ghost is and experience it constantly.

  2. They had faith then and though misinformed handled poisonous snakes, hot coals and stove pipes. Signs still follow believers and these signs are not from Holy Ghost believers but modern new age phenomenon.

  3. Wow the judgmentalism here! I won’t allow people blasphemy of the Holy Spirit! Your saying a work of God is Satan! Satan does not glorify God! They do! You guys sit there watch a bs doctored video and you know everything! I thought this was a pro cog group NOT an anti charismatic page! If this continues I’m out. All I hear is ripping everyone you guys don’t like! Have a good night.

  4. I think we will see a major difference between the older verses younger CoG. This new generation never had the opportunity to experience the CoG some thirty years ago. They have been greatly influenced by the Charismatics. They really do not know. So we must try to understand them and pray one for another.

  5. I’ve been In the COG all my life. I’m now 41. Theses “fire tunnels” where around long before Toronto revival. We called them prayer lines. Some on here need to read Acts 2:13. You sound familiar to those in that verse. Yes, some of the footage there may be “wild fire” but I guarantee you that there is a lot of genuine moving of the spirit. Looking at the footage it’s obvious that this was a video put together to mock them so of course you are going to see the most ridiculous moments. Furthermore I joined the group hoping to be encouraged in my faith. Yet all I have read has been COG bashing. Complaints about why the COG is not like it used to be and how dead the church is now. Hate to tell ya, but I’m in a spirit filled, “modern” COG, that has many of the things many of you hate. But guess what, the holy spirit moves, people worship and lives are changed. Maybe the church you are in is so dead is because you have taken the time that you used to use for prayer and fasting, you are now using to bash your pastor. Be careful people. The Lords return is soon and many are too busy complaining about the storehouse to go fill it with the harvest.

  6. The apostles taught us to reject practices that did not originate with the examples they left for us to follow. There is a thing called “the faith” once and for all handed down to the saints. We are supposed to follow it to the best of our ability, and reject novelties. Such novelties only cause you to further seek after the men who invent these strange practices.

As one Assemblies of God pastor I know that survived the fallout of the Brownsville Revival told me, “people started doing this weird stuff because they were bored with Jesus. Jesus simply wasn’t enough for them.”

I wouldn’t say these things are demonic in essence. However, they are what the late Chinese missionary Watchmen Nee referred to as “soulish.” These practices tap into weird psychological phenomenon. People definitely are feeling something, but it’s not God so much as it is just them working themselves up into trance, and borderline mass hypnosis which takes social cues from people around you.

People need to return to Jesus. He’s sweet and beautiful, and never causes you to lose your mind.

  7. I am a christian and a pastor because of Brownsville! Survived fallout? The Aog is only survived was the revival! we were going Thru the motions I WAS a AoG minister and Brownsville saved my life! We were on fire for God! I started a church in Japan from it! I am tired of revisionism about what happened by the haters and upset it didn’t happen in their church! Jesus not enough for us load of crapola! How insulting!! Show me where we are told to reject that or 99% of your church activities are to be rejected! Where did they teach the structure we have? What about walking to sinners prayer? Again you judge from what others tell you! Mass hypnosis wow might as well reject speaking in tongues as demonic also or mass hysteria like the criticism you listen to would tell you. Again if this constant criticism and slandering continue I for one won’t support it! It’s un CHRIST like and gossip! One last appeal to moderator follow your rule and enforce it.

  8. I’m all for rejecting a lot of the modern structures and practices and phenomenon we see in present day Christianity, including a lot of what passes as kosher in Pentecostalism. If it didn’t come from the apostles and we can’t see it in Scripture, then I have zero interest in it continuing today.

Please don’t tell me weird things such as people barking like dogs or twitching uncontrollably on the floor is from Jesus. That’s a strange fire I want nothing to do with because it has nothing to do with Jesus. The fruit of the Spirit involves self control, not losing control.

“Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions, just as I delivered them to you.”
    1 Corinthians 11:1-2 NASB

“If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment. But if anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.”
    1 Corinthians 14:37-38 NASB

“Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us.”
    Philippians 3:17 NASB

“The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
    Philippians 4:9 NASB

“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you, so that you would follow our example.”
    2 Thessalonians 3:6-9 NASB

I just want to follow Jesus and the teachings and examples of the apostles. If you want to do something else, have at it.

  9. Thanks I will I see its fruit and I see the fruit of those that rip into it knowing NOTHING about it! I know you mean well. But telling me what I Know to be God isn’t is not good.
Yes manifestations were from God I experienced it! I was addicted to pornography for years, I went forward repented woke up 2 hours later jerking like I was electric! Got up next day was gone but from that day in 1997 I was completely free! Tell me SATAN does that!!

  10. I wish our young people today could see church like that. The Bible said that David danced before the Lord with all his might. It said he leaped , shouted , because the Ark Of The Covenant was back at Jerusalem. That represented The Presence Of The Lord. Of course I’m with the Bro. That said they didn’t understand when they handled snakes. I thought most was in order.

  11. These good old shouting services like we use to have. Just bless my soul. The messages. I remember Bro. Paul Walker. I couldn’t remember them all. But I remember Bro Paul walker. But that kind of singing and shouting and the message really blessed me.

  12. I think my daughter was asking that question. On the first tape she was asking about. Because she asked me what church would do that. She was wondering what church would promote that kind of thing. If you noticed they were singing a worldly song while they were shouting. The world and the Spirit doesn’t mix. I just noticed that on there. She was wondering what church would prompt this.
