  1. Good they don’t want me then I refuse to dress up like a puppet. If I dress up it is because I want to or God has me do it. And the best use for the hymnals it raised the amplifier just the right angle to hear it better lol.

  2. I agree with the member. I would not permit a “so-called” preacher in my pulpit that looked like a bum. They would not dress like that if they were attending a wedding or visiting the White House. The house of God is far more important than a wedding or the White House. Singing? I agree with the member. Nothing but hymns and shouting music. I am so tired of those 7/11 songs.

  3. When we get heaven, it will all be worship songs. But until then, we must get others saved. Only testimonial songs will draw them into the an altar of prayer.

  4. I’m curious where we get our code for dress in Scripture. I don’t remember seeing outlines for attire listed.
And last I checked, it wasn’t the testimony song that drew folks to the Lord… seems the Holy Spirit had more to do with it than song choice…

  5. Nothing wrong with that
    I fit that bill totally
    I have a wonderful church
    We sang hymns tonight
    Broke into a Jericho march
    Had prayer in the altars
    That’s how we roll

I am not looking, I am having a wonderful time in South Mississippi

  6. Nothing wrong with wanting hymns but to pigeon hole God to that is just not Scriptural. An opinion is one thing but passing it off as the only means to spread the gospel with Scriptural support is completely wrong

  7. Then that’s their choice. I have my preference and it all goes back to lining up with Scripture. Musically speaking, I can enjoy most any style of worship, but my taste in music is just that.. MY taste, not God’s law for worship.

  8. Considering worship should never be based on emotion or any type of selfish motive, should musical style even play a part in how we worship? Isn’t worship supposed to be a response to what God has done and who He is?

  9. We should not put down musical styles especially if it’s good and leads people to the cross. But my question would how would one replace Amazing Grace or Just as I am or the old rugged Cross. Come on. Hymns are my bread and butter for singing I love them and I always will.

Love newer songs to, Grace like rain, let the worshippers arise, I loved hillsong in their early days not so much now, I loved the Honsanna music of the 80s. I love Blue Grass Gospel. Southern Gospel, black Gospel, there is enough to go around.

  10. If they pick the pastor, then they will get exactly what they get.
But when they let The Holy Spirit pick the pastor then they get exactly what they need.

The fact will be proven that somethings need to remain the same, and some things are in need of Change.
Some of those things needing to change are the attitudes of the people in the church just like the one placing the phone call.
