I love this and I was raised seeing services like this. When I pastored a small country church in Ferndale, Florida we had services like this in late 80’s. Most of the preachers in the CofG is to worldly and knows the way to get a bigger church is fill them as fast as they can.

This is when it was called the Holy Ghost not Holy Spirit….Love it…
Not just the ladies, but everybody is dressed nice, even the young, today some people go into church with flip flops and shorts on.
I see religiosity is still around. Not a slam just observation.The external means nothing. It’s the internal that matters. I came in the cog when all the no jewelry no handholding garbage was going out. Holy Ghost Holy Spirit is same thing! Wow were that concerned with semantics that we overlook what was missing. I came out of legalism and it gave me a burden and a love for the sinner where I didn’t look down my nose anymore like I did. I see these services every week. For several hours at a time. Look there all over.
There was an awesomeness about letting go in God’s Holy Presence & dancing like David danced.
I think the problem is the modern American brain. We are so trained to sit and be entertained. It’s just not American to get up and DO something!
We go to church, and want choreographed dance, trained musicians, and logical preaching.
But you can’t have choreographed dance, and dancing in the Spirit in the same service. it’s a whole different kind of meeting. A whole different approach to God.
Entertainment isn’t worship.
And the church these days thinks the emotions they feel when they are entertained by religious activity, is worship. It isn’t.
Worship is work. Worship is producing something. Worship isn’t about getting a feeling. It’s all about God.
One more thing… Brains that are trained to be entertained, think of activity as a show. And shows have two kinds of people: performers, and audience. When church turns into a show, everyone who does anything will think about who’s watching. And that will kill it, every time.
Change the hairstyles and clothes, the music style and the style of speaking, and you can probably see some similar stuff in some ‘prophetic movement’ churches, with ladies shaking, dancing off the side, and getting excited.
Bobby Akers was CoG and still is in his theology. I have spoken to him several times.
Holy Ghost busted out again last night in Indian Valley COG!
Pastor began to dwell on the power in the Name of Jesus, and had the congregation on their feet, shouting in unison, “JESUS, JESUS, JESUS” like a cheer at a football game. Suddenly, it was just like this video. GOD CAME DOWN IN THAT PLACE.
You could feel Him like electricity in the very air.
People all over hit the aisles, some were dancing in the Spirit, others running.
Just like old times.
