I’m absolutely amazed at some of the stuff I’m seeing on this forum. Makeup, jewelry, bobbed hair, etc. Offering opinions on more than one of our leaders wives when we don’t even know them. Poor judgement and lack of Christian character if you ask me!

  1. It’s very easy to get offended and pass judgment.
People come into the COG from all kinds of backgrounds.
I come from a very strict Mennonite background.
My family thinks I am rebellious, just because I no longer wear the fabric headcovering. My hair is long, my dresses are too. I do have a conviction that this is biblical, but I have to face it– that’s my comfort zone.

Fact is, God is looking more for a heart of love towards our fellowman, than He is for an external holiness look.

I have learned that someone can be coming from a completely worldly background, and have a true heart of love toward God and everyone else… and be progressing toward more holiness.

And at the same time, there are so many who stand ram-rod straight and justify themselves based on their external appearance… and compare themselves among themselves… which is not wise, Paul said.

It’s important to live a holy life, inside and out. Be the change you want to see.
But it’s important also to do that with a humble, loving attitude toward others who don’t see eye-to-eye with you on everything.
