WE visited the church at Wildwood, FL. A lady was speaking on Mother’s day. I have heard the story of Job hundreds of times. I remember those words of God: Have you considered my servant Job? After a few words and permission, trouble started I never even give that ‘sorry wife of his much thought!’ What I remembered of her was, Why don’t you Curse God and Die?I never considered she had just lost ALL her children, most of the servants, All the wealth in THOUSANDS of animals. and more. She had watched her husband suffer.I saw her in a different light. She may not have had what Job had in his heart, but that lady had suffered along with him… I did not make a saint out of her, but I sure looked at her differently. I have often thought of another angle. We know that God restored more to Job…but no matter how beautiful his new daughters were, no matter how wonderful his new sons were, NOTHING can take the place of what was lost.I do believe that Job recovered and moved on. But I keep in mind that there had to be a part of him that remained crushed forever.The following is my PERSONAL belief: This was a one-off event. I say this as MY belief, not anyone else’s. When I first had my son, I got to being nagged by wondering if God might, just as he did with Job, allow my son to be taken just because.

Yes we know you are proud of him as you should be…. I know when you see him, something swells within your heart!BUT I too have thought about those first in Job’s family.
