I see our church from old eyes. Like many churches we were a local church. Folks walked to church some drove, many of those would ‘bring’ folks with no transportation. We ran 125 to 200 on Sundays and did not even have a parking lot.WE were really a big family.Every Sunday kids went home with other kids to play in the afternoon then return to their families at the Sunday Night Service. I don’t think anyone drove over 4-5 miles to church.WE are about 2 miles from the church and probably the closest members. Some drive 15-20 miles to church our pastor even lives in another town. Very few members live in our town. That being the case we seldom see each other except on Sunday morning. A few of us get together on Wednesday morning for church. WE have no night services.I would love to attend a local church where i ran into my brothers and sisters in local stores and down town at times. I miss that.Really what I am wondering is your church local or do members drive miles to addend________________Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
In our church of 80+-, we have two families that drive at least 20 miles, my family being one of them. Other than seeing them at church we have no interaction with them. We are never invited to anything such as get togethers or b day parties. After 3 years we still feel like outsiders. All that to say I too miss the feeling of being part of a church “family”________________“Hell will be filled with people that didn’t cuss, didn’t drink, and may even have been baptized. Why? Because none of those things makes someone a Christian.”
Wow!You guys need to move to Summerville. ________________Charles A. HutchinsSenior Pastor SPWCCongregational Church of Godwww.spwc.church
We live 11 miles from our church. It’s in a rural location with the parsonage on the grounds but no one else is very close. We have Sun AM church (10:45 until…) and Wednesday night Bible Study for young adults and seasoned saints (40 & above.) I’ve been a part of this church for almost 20 years and this is pretty much the norm. We are a small multicultural community of faith but we are close-knit________________More of Him…less of me.twitter.com/camiracle77www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=691241499&ref=name
Thanks to you who left information. I am sure local churches are few and far between. The churches we attend in Florida have many who drive a good ways to church.BTW Sheepdog, my girl won’t move to Summerville, she won’t move from NC, she is sure this is the first place the Lord is coming to when He decides to return. She ain’t about to move, so I am stuck here. LOL She has been taking care of me for 66 years now.Ya’ll take care. I had a fight with Covid but with the help of the Lord WE WON! ________________Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
