I am always probing my dad for information about our local Church of God. He said that when he and mom started attending that W. E. Johnson was the Tennessee state overseer.
Johnson was from our county and had married a Hitchcock and soon after leaving the area quickly gained fame as a COG preacher and administrator.
My dad said that when he first heard W. E. Johnson preach he used big theological words however he would end up really preaching!!
