This is not an official Church of God Group. It is an open forum for discussing COG issues relating to the denomination. The headquarters are in Cleveland, Tennessee. You are welcome to post (all post have to be approved by an administrator) and to comment. If you don’t have anything good to say about the denomination then post it here. This is not a rah rah page for the COG but an open and free discussion.
The biggest negative complaints have been from loyal COG folks who question the openness of this page. They have problems with openness and transparency!
There is a lot of praise for the Church of God that existed 30 years ago. I was raised COG, graduated from Lee College and served as COG pastor for over 25 years. I served the church in Ohio, Turkey, Italy, Illinois, Georgia, Germany and Tennessee. I have a wide range of understanding of the Church at local, state and GHQ.
I was born and raised in McMinnville, Tennessee and never traveled out of Middle, Tennessee. We did make a trip to Gatlingburg when I was about 4 or 5.
It is true that I harbor resentment toward the leadership of the Church. This is a hurt that people say forgive and forget. I seek forgiveness however I don’t forget. In a sense I have PTSD and this group forum is revealing to me the depth of the disorder and I am receiving help from the Holy Spirit, at an on-going healing since 2005. I am experiencing intimacy from God!
