I doubt if anyone on this board has paid tithe longer than my wife. She started in 1946. When we were married our monthly income was $155.30. This girl sent in a money order for $15.30 I was shocked. I said, Honey, send in $15.50 .I cannot do that, it is not 10%, the other would be offerings.You may laugh at that, but it took me a couple years to convince her you could pay more than 10%. In the last 60 years she has learned she can send more and still call it tithe. She is happy, I am happy.We got a pay increase in a month of so and she was sure it was because we paid tithe. Although our neighbors who were Catholic got the same raise. .I know MOST of the COG ministers and laity believe tithe is mandatory.
