Eddie, it truly is baffling and disgusting to me to watch brothers and sisters go this route even if there is justifiable anger. It makes quite apparent that discernment isn't a gift equally given. I find comfort in God's Word:Jeremiah 17:5-10New King James Version (NKJV)5 Thus says the Lord:“Cursed is the man who trusts in manAnd makes flesh his strength,Whose heart departs from the Lord.6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,And shall not see when good comes,But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,In a salt land which is not inhabited.7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,And whose hope is the Lord.8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,Which spreads out its roots by the river,And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green,And will not be anxious in the year of drought,Nor will cease from yielding fruit.9 “The heart is deceitful above all things,And desperately wicked;Who can know it?10 I, the Lord, search the heart,I test the mind,Even to give every man according to his ways,According to the fruit of his doings.I am further reminded of the old Lutheran hymn:My Hope is Built on Nothing Lessby Edward Mote, 1797-18741. My hope is built on nothing lessThan Jesus' blood and righteousness;I dare not trust the sweetest frame,But wholly lean on Jesus' name.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.2. When darkness veils His lovely face,I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy galeMy anchor holds within the veil.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.3. His oath, His covenant, and bloodSupport me in the whelming flood; When every earthly prop gives way,He then is all my Hope and Stay.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,Oh, may I then in Him be found,Clothed in His righteousness alone,Faultless to stand before the throne! On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.Blessings on you and upon yours Proverbs 3:5-6; John 13:34-35; Acts 1:8
