I think of all the candidates running for POTUS Rubio has a better grasp and understanding of what's happening in the world (with the possible exception of Rick Santorum):http://www.mediaite.com/tv/marco-rubio-perfectly-predicted-russias-syria-airstrikes-weeks-ago www.roysteravenue.com |

Rubio was not the only one who saw it coming, It was logical, our leaders just do not want to admit it. In my opinion we should have joined Assad against the ISIS when we realized we were not effective. I assume we realized it after 500 million dollars and we produced 5 soldiers who turned all their equipment over to the REbels and left. Putin is right, agree to fight one front, then settle our RED LINE, if it is real or exists.Toppling Assad will only do the same as Iran and Iraq. NOTHING! If Russia is a threat, then we created that threat with our insistence on fighting Assad instead of ISIS. Obama has this nutty idea that we must first topple Assad, install the moderates, and then go after ISIS. He sees Assad and ISIS as moral equivalents. Yeah, this approach has worked out well in other Arab Spring countries, huh?Putin has sense enough to see that secular dictatorships are the best we can hope for in that region. We allied ourselves with right wing dictators in Latin America during the Cold War against the Soviets. What then is wrong with being allied with secular dictators in the middle east against ISIS? We missed a golden chance to get concessions from Assad by promising to keep him from be overthrown by ISIS. Sorry, but Russia is no threat here. They are using the right approach. They might be our only hope in keeping a leash on Iran as well |
