| We've got another thread on Islam, literally. 'Islam' is Arabic for 'submission.' 'Muslim' means 'submitter.' Their idea of it is that it is submitting to God's will. Christian apologists using a contextual approach will sometimes tell Muhammadans that Christians are the real muslims, the real submitters to the will of God.Like Hebrew, Arabic has trilateral roots. The trilateral root for 'Islam is 'sl. 'Islam does not mean peace. It does sound a bit like salaam, which means peace, and is cognate with Hebrew shalom |
