It is a shame, very reminiscent of Word of Faith proponents who let their child die by withholding medication. You know, it was their guaranteed right as a Christian to be healed.http://www.patheos.com/blogs/progressivesecularhumanist/2014/11/oregon-faith-healing-parents-on-trial-for-death-of-daughter/http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/sick.htmhttp://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2014/11/15/a-survivor-of-the-faith-assembly-cult-talks-about-growing-up-under-the-gaze-of-crazed-preacher-hobart-freeman/ |

Heart breaking that people can be so mislead. WE will never understand because we weren't there. It is hard to believe anyone can be that driven, but it is a form of brain washing and IT CAN HAPPEN, where there is no oversight.A leader can be so powerful in his/her approach you have EVEN A JONES TOWN. I did not realize this until preparing for a message recently. While researching Jim Jones and Jonestown for an illustration, in the beginning his appeal was religious. But in the end, it became entirely political almost to the point of him being an agnostic. He was persuasive but those poor people found themselves out of the safety of this country trapped in a death camp with no hope of escape |

There is a WOF church called Word of Life here in town if I'm not mistaken. There are probably lots of churches with that name. This is a really sad story. We have to keep in mind media isn't always, true. This guy I knew said he went to a little Holiness church where they held him down and tried to cast the demon of smoking out of him. But knowing the guy, maybe he had been manifesting something and didn't realize it later, and they were doing the best they could. But it sounds like this story is about people trying to discipline someone else's teen, rather than an overexuberant attempt at exorcism |
