Very interesting. I'd like to see some folks who really know Greek well comment on that and which of the two alternatives he proposes (if any) fit best |

Well, he's probably just wrong all around because marriage must be saved at all costs since it is the model of Christ and the church. |

Your mocking message doesn't add much to the discussion. Neither of his possible interpretations are an attack on marriage |

And what do we make of your comment that you wish someone who knew Greek well would comment when it's pretty obvious the blog author knows Greek well? I didn't mean it as a swipe on the author. I just like to see multiple opinions. I just posted the link on a facebook forum that has at least one Greek scholar on it, maybe 2, to see the discussion |

And if you don't like that comment, what about the one I made prior to that? Does that add to the discussion or do you just want to point out the comments that you don't think add to the discussion? |

It just seemed you just wanted to dog me on various threads because we disagreed on another. And I think some of your questions could lead to derailing the thread which is on a specific topic. I have to admit, I'd kind of used to lean toward the 'Good News' interpretation of this passage. But I think the idea that the man who divorces his wife makes her out to be an adulteress may make a bit more sense |

Link, I posted a thread about Ruth Tucker's book. You are all over the place on that thread, bringing up various topics from feminist literature in women's shelters, a movie starring Jennifer Lopez, forgiveness of child molesters, Saul and David, etc., etc. You even went so far as to cast doubt on whether or not her account was even true. Were you concerned about derailing the thread?I don't think my one comment here is going to derail the thread, seriously. But then again, if you want to comment on my comments, I suppose it could. |

The article you cited went in a lot of different directions. This article was focused more specifically, IMO, on the meaning of a phrase in Greek. And I'd like to see some comment on that. I also posted my first response to your question in the OP, but other posters responded going in different directions to what I'd said. |
