If Donald Trump is the nominee and you're ticked off about that to the point that you don't vote, threaten not to vote, vote for someone that can't possibly win, and as a result Hillary Clinton is the next president, consider the ramifications:Antonin Scalia is dead and his seat is vacant. Ruth Ginsberg is 82 years old.Anthony Kennedy is 79.Stephen Breyer is 77.Clarence Thomas is 67. We just got Justices Kagan and Sotomayer...and gay marriage.

I understand your point, but imagine if we the Republican voters were wise enough to elect someone who could actually defeat Clinton. It would be a miracle to get as many to the polls for Trump as voted for Romney and that was not enough, and the evidence was presented early on that over 40% of Republican voters said they would refuse to ever vote for Trump, yet the sophisticated voters they are simply ignored all reason and voted based on their rage and unfounded credence in demagoguery.Even if most of us bite the bullet and vote for him, as usual its the middle that has to make up the difference and I don't think that anyone really knows how that's going to play.As for SCOTUS, its a hope based on a promise of a man who has never shown an ounce of conservatism until politically beneficial. He will appoint his sister somewhere, if not the SC, he will make deals like he promised, and we don't really know where he stands on gay marriage, etc...Sorry, as scary as your post is, it doesn't convince me that Trump is the one to mitigate it. I may yet due my duty and vote against my own conscience for him, but I will not blame others for not doing it. Their choice was handed to them by the minority of the party (even the latest polls show he's around 40%)

I know your question was not directed to me, but I will give my answer anyhow. No, I cannot be certain what kind of judges Trump would appoint and neither can anyone else. That troubling uncertainty as to what he would do about any issue is what bothers me most about him. But I am very convinced that I know what kind of judges Hillary would nominate, and that bothers me a great deal more.

At the very least Trump would (if it matters to him at all) be under pressure from every side (populace and congress) to go with Constitutional minded judges. Also, if they have the intestinal fortitude to enforce it, congress still has the power to reject nominees from either. But I see that as only a glimmer of hope in the worst case scenario.

Yes. He will appoint a Scalia type. Or a John Roberts (who ruled it constitutional to force people to buy health insurance) or a David Souter or who knows? Besides, one could have appointed a Bork, but if he is not confirmed... One of Trump's persistent attacks on Cruz is that he appointed a phony like Roberts. Thus I do not think he would make the same mistake

Sure we can , It will be someone from his failing casino mob. A comment with absolutely no substantive values
