Post subject:  Eddie Robbins: Dr. Betty Robbins Standifer, my sweet sister, has passed

Betty was like a second mother to me being almost 14 years older. She attended Lee Academy and Lee College. She taught elementary school and later taught the teachers at Lincoln Memorial University. She was a licensed minister in the Church of God and ministered to women in prison there in Chattanooga. Last year, it was found out that she had cancer. It spread to her lungs and after several attempts at new treatments, she wasn't improving. Last Friday night, she fell out of bed and was rushed to Erlanger Emergency room. A brain scan showed that she had a stroke on the left side of her brain and her heart was not functioning properly. She was moved to hospice on Saturday. On Sunday morning, her husband, Wayne, was reading scriptures from her Bible when all of a sudden she opened her eyes very wide and took her last breath. We had prayed for her not to suffer. Several months battling lung cancer was not going to be what we wanted for her. I believe the Lord heard and answered our prayers and took her peacefully.
