As a pastor I stay out of the political arena in regard to advocating one person or party over another. I just follow what I think is Jesus' example by preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom and his instructions to go into all the world preaching and making disciples. I need to speak Christ into the lives of others and I just think keeping the main thing the main thing is the best way to have access to the hearts of as many as possible. But while I am doing that - I find professors at the University I send our church kids to, on Facebook promoting the one presidential candidate that is more like Lucifer than any other I've ever seen (in my personal opinion). So, the pastor doesn't weigh in with his opinion but the professor is blatantly pro-Lucifer and influencing our children.

The pastor was key to the Revolution, the church house and the pub were the places our political views came from. It was LBJ that influenced our generation of pastors to not speak politically and for good reason (on his part).

Every political season it is the same. I have only attended one church a few years ago (Baptist) where the pastor took the entire 'worship' time promoting one candidate.Unlike many, I know Christians who are in both major political parties. They have their reasons. But I commented to my wife, reckon the opposition party members will be back next Sunday? As a kid my dad only pastored one 'political' church, VAldese NC. Honestly three months before an election they all wore their 'Clean House with Ike and Dick' or 'Adlai Stevenson is The Man' Buttons every Sunday. They sat on opposite sides of the church, they were happy to discuss their politics, I cannot remember a time they weren't 'STILL FAMILY & FRIENDS'.Pastors have both parties in their church, the pastor is shepherd of all, even if you consider some wayward sheep.I remember Dad's introduction of himself. He said, YOu don't have to ask me my political persuasion, I am what you are, Christian. Some tight ropes are hard to walk.... Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Don't think we need to post political feelings on FB or on Acts-celerate if we post under our real name. If you pastors don't want to pastor a Democrat just put that up on the church sign. No Democrats need apply. If any show up after that they deserve punishment.

So the answer is much like the election then, keep accepting the least liberal of the liberal choices. I think that's called erosion. (though some would call it progression)
