Details copied below:The StoryOn July 6, 2016, author, associate pastor, and teacher Dr. Peggy Scarborough had a TAVR heart valve replacement at Duke Hospital. Peggy suffered a stroke the next day following the successful heart valve surgery; however, God has brought some miraculous and accelerated recovery of function on her right side. On July 16, Peggy was discharged to Waccamaw Rehab Hospital in Murrell's Inlet in South Carolina, near their home, where she is to remain until August 3. This journey has taken some unexpected turns, with some unforeseen expenses; daughter Sherri and Peg's husband, Pastor Neigel Scarborough, had to arrange for extra lodging, fuel, and meals to stay there additional days at Duke with Peggy (four hours from their home). There are accumulating expenses that the insurance will not be covering, and that includes Sherri needing to remain at home to help care for her parents in this transition, the costs of ambulance transportation from Duke back to Myrtle Beach, equipment to be installed in the home, etc. But!Peggy Scarborough is a fighter! She wants to be back on her weekly radio teaching series as well as her Healing School at Lighthouse Christian Bookstore in Conway, SC every Thursday evening. She will no doubt reclaim her passionate involvement in the various state and national intercessory prayer movements as well. For now, until she's recovered fully and until they can recap these medical bills, her radio program is on hold. Please, if Peggy's teaching, books, or prayer ministry has somehow impacted your life, consider helping their family absorb these very unexpected medical expenses. By helping relieve their debt, this will free Peggy to once again (and we believe it will be soon) get back to the ministry she's so driven to share.
