Post subject:  doyle: A word of APPRECIATION for Perry Stone

Sadly, one of our posters made a derogatory remark about our Brother in Christ and fellow minister, Perry Stone. One of our regular posters brought it to my attention. I so much regret it when someone uses this board to trash someone else. That kind of behavior is uncalled for. It is vicious, and totally unChristian.Scripture admonishes us to be kind to each other... That is a Scriptural command that almost all of us can follow. I think the KJV says it stronger when it proclaims Be ye kind therefore one unto another, tenderhearted... There really isn't anything tenderhearted about trashing someone's good name.It is COMPLETELY in order to disagree with what someone says. Apostle Paul disagreed with Apostle Peter concerning a proposed requirement that Gentile believers must be circumcised. Thank God he did! If that had become the requirement, every church visitors packet would come with a scapel. If we think there are not enough men in church now...just sayin.I have known Perry since he was a teenager starting out in ministry. He has a heart for God. I am an admirer of the powerful work the Lord is using Perry to do in reaching people. I am an admirer of his writing and organizational abilities. Most of all, I appreciate his dedication and faithfulness to Christ. Perry and I don't live close to each other. I seldom see him these days because of that, but every time I have been in fellowship with him, it has been a good experience. I look forward to when we can be in fellowship again. Most likely, Perry does not agree with every word I write. If I looked really hard, I probably could dig up something he has said with which I disagree. But this dynamic Man Of God is often used powerfully to reach the lost, the hurting and people who have been discouraged. I pray the Lord would raise up more men like him.It is an honor to be one of Perrys Brothers in the Lord. Blessing to you Brother Perry. Doyl

Well, what to say, Eddie? I know the other thread was started from a facebook post that Perry Stone made. I believe he has since removed it (but a cached copy was still available the last time I checked). Some jokes were made about the source of insider information (because anonymous sources can only go so far about reliability). I can remember one particular suggestion that would have been offensive if it was actually an accusation of Perry Stone, but I certainly took it to be just a general joke about where people come up with some of their unusual ideas and not a suggestion that Perry Stone specifically did that.

Some folks are a little shy to respond since Doyle posted such a glowing post of Perry Stone.I did not get to read the deleted post but I have to say, I'm a little concerned about some of the stuff Perry is putting out there. I have had members as recent as this past Sunday questioning some of what he is saying. I have actually been telling these folks to be careful in believing everything they are hearing from him. The whole Cherokee nation being descendants and there being a special portal over Cleveland TN. This kind of stuff makes me scratch my head a little. This is what the lady was questioning:ENJOY THIS WHILE YOU CAN! One of the last things Obama will do before leaving office is to basically turn the Intenet over to the Globalists. In two months, the U.S. government control of the Internet names and addresses will be turned over. A report today indicated it is the desire of the United Nations to take control of the Internet, and China and Russia have both said that global governments need to have the ability to control what is and is not said on the Internet. The first groups to go away or be blocked will be conservative evangelical ministries and also conservstive blogs that expose the secret and hidden agendas of leaders, or make stands in agreement with the Bible. This could well be the conclusion of Internet freedom of speech for many. Some will say this is not as big a deal, however, several organizations are very concerned and believe this is the first step in conrolling the speech of Americans.

I started that post, and I only copied (cut and pasted) what Perry Stone had put out on a public site. I said nothing in judgement about him, just wanted to see what others thought about it. As far as I'm concerned, the times I've heard him preach he has wondered off into apocryphal topics (and I mean that as in hidden knowledge, that God has revealed to me) . I'm sure he is a good person and living right, I don't think anyone questioned his morals, or even his sincerity.

Perry Stone knows he is posting things over the top - and does it purposefully - because that is what his followers expect.Glenn Beck followers expect the same.It doesn't make him a bad guy - but I have a problem with his secretive - in the know postings. He is interesting - but he is not always correct. Is it wrong to point that out

As JD and NB have stated, I have no ill will toward PS. I've never heard one thing that would impugn his character in terms of morality. My concerns have always been, and they began the first time I heard PS preach, and it has been the same to this day. The tendency toward the sensational that causes him to continually put out material that has no basis in Scripture, but is at best speculation, and at times borders on absurdity. Oops, gotta go. The portal is about to open an I only have a 30-minute window to receive my miracle.

I agree with most of the posters here. Is Perry a good guy?? Probably. I don't know him. Can he preach?? Sure -- if you like Pentecostal preaching. I think he speaks well and can hold an audience. Does he love God?? Without question, yes!But in my eyes, his message is nullified because of his sensationalism, and his insider information. It's all bull.... malarkey... hooey... and a waste of anyone's time to listen to it, buy his material, etc. Save your time and spend your money better by listening to and supporting Ravi Zacharias ---------My Facebook www.facebook.com/theB3

If you disagree with Perry, that's fine. If you don't want to listen to him, that's fine. But saying he or any of our COG ministers get his inspiration or resources from a bottle of Jim Beam is way over the top. It's mean-spirited and it's wrong More of Him...less of me.twitter.com/camiracle77www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=691241499&ref=name
