That Trump and Hillary, because they don't use Dr. before their name--or for that matter, Ph.D behind their name if from an unaccredited university--are FAR SUPERIOR to men and women of God who, through no fault of their own (or perhaps because of time or money issues) didn't go to a school that would pay for accreditation.Yes, these saints of God are almost demons in comparison to Trump or Hillary, since they have the utter gall to suggest that their non-accredited doctorate might be just as academically valid as that from an accredited program. After all, everybody knows that ONLY UTILITY MATTERS! Doesn't matter how hard or easy the program is. All that matters is the UTILITY that comes with ACCREDITATION...which will not come unless a university PAYS FOR IT.Western Governor's University allows you to test out of courses, taking only the courses you need to complete the degree. Yes, this university is accredited. But if someone who is NOT accredited is doing the same thing, then the difference may not have a thing to do with academic value, but only UTILITY. |

You beat me Longhorn Normally, an attorney is only called Dr. in an Academic setting and I never hear Politician JD's refer to themselves as Dr.According to ettituque (can't spell), even PhD's should only use Dr. in an academic setting, but it is quite common for them to do so today. I suppose that since ministry Doctorates typically serve in churches (and in Academia), it makes more sense they should use them from the pulpit, otherwise there wouldn't be a forum for them to get to use their hard earned title. (Assuming they are real OT). It doesn't bother me that (real) DMin use Dr. from the Pulpit, if anything it adds validity and respect for their position.I do have a problem with PhD's insisting on being Dr. in social settings. It just comes across as pretentious. |
