Another gospel, which isn't a gospel - puts you to work trying to earn life.1. Faith which brings blessing, the Spirit, miracles, perfection and life.2. Works which bring curses, condemnation, fear, sin and death.1. Law which focus on the outside of the cup, Jew, slave, woman.2. Grace which cleans the inside of the cup and makes us all one.1. The truth that makes you free - and declares people clean.2. The Law that brings bondage - and declares people dirty.1. The works of the Law - a rule you keep - something to do.2. The hearing of faith.- a promise He kept - something to believe.1. The works of the flesh - the Law that increases sin and kills.2. The fruit of the Spirit - the Spirit that gives life and transforms.1. Mt. Sinai - Hagar who had a child because she was strong enough.2. Mt. | When I read Galatians looking for things that Apostle Paul addressed regarding the law, all I find are issues regarding observance of days and circumcision. Should we read something else into it or maybe I missed something?Paul also addresses the works of the flesh of which he admonishes that those which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of heaven. What part of not don't you understand, Brad. He also remarks about the fruit of the Spirit being love. The supernatural production of a Spirit walking Christ follower would be thus ascertained. Conversely a flesh walking unbeliever would produce other works. Note there are works in both scenarios Brad, though one is called fruit. Is not fruit in actuality a work. How can a person walk and there not be some work involved. Do you walk with zero effort? Would you not, while walking in this world of trouble (The Lord said we would have trouble in this world) with much testing, have to work at walking?Just don't throw the baby out with the bath water! |
