Post subject: | Preacher777: Christmas Day Service: An Amazing Testimony |
I appreciated a thread from Da Sheik asking about what was happening at the Christmas service as it made me think and pray more about God's plan for Christmas. We normally have some quiet time between songs as God leads (I don't believe He only speaks or uses the Gifts of the Spirit at a designated time at the end of worship) and I felt we should do the same on Christmas Eve and day. A long term Christian couple (saved about 40 years ago) were not there Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I actually knew the wife since I was 10 years old and she was like an older sister to me. I must admit about 15 minutes into the service I noticed they were not there and knew their family Christmas celebration was on Christmas Eve. Since they are like family a thought went through my mind about how I don't have to be tactful and can let them have it for being lazy apart form an emergency on their end.At the moment I had that thought I saw them walking into the service late and gave God one of those amusing, Forgive me Lord moments during worship. God used him to deliver a message in tongues (he is more likely to give a prophecy) and to my amazement she interpreted the message. After service I let them know how neat it was to have a husband give a tongue with the wife as the interpreter anytime let alone on Christmas day. I never heard her give aa prophecy, tongue or interpretation and she confirmed it was the first time God used her as an interpreter. The really ironic part is that she said she was shocked God ever used her because she was doing dishes at 10:00 am and not until then did he tell her they should quit being lazy and get to church (10:30 AM service, 25 minute drive). She said she got ready quickly then on the way to church let him know that next time he insists on going she needs an hour's notice. |

Awesome testimony! We too had a great day of worship & a big boost in attendance.Several new people were there cause their church was closed & most of our attenders were present.I was kinda not expecting so great a crowd but when I walked in at the beginning of the service I was amazed at the number of people who were there. Music was great, 2 human dramas were right on point, communion, candle light & worship, gifts for kids & I gave all the leadership a gift with an envelope to show them appreciation. Every family in our church were given multiple items as they left including 5 lb. bag of oranges, bag of dinner rolls, large bags of beef jerky, flats of eggs, candy & treats of all kinds, cakes from a local bakery, veggies of all kinds ...great day! Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!Email me at: [email protected] planters are focused on just one thing ...introducing people to Jesus! |
