I attended church today at an RV Park. Attendance close to 200. The Lacey's, usually conduct the service but today The Merrills, a traveling singing and preaching group was here. Very talented singers and the minister did a good job, my girl said.He spoke very rapidly, and was loud then very quiet. Evidently he is also a good comic, because there was a lot of laughing. As a person with a hearing problem I sat there and remembered the sermon from Brother Black at the National Breakfast, that was posted here. I was amazed thinking how well the hard of hearing folk would be able to UNDERSTAND Black.I remembered when I had much rather stay home and hear Charles Stanley even though we had a difference in belief, than attend our church. There is a lot to be said about speed and pronunciation. Just sayin'. Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

YOu are correct DS. Most folk do not understand the hearing loss. Many folk are familiar with eye glasses. Every thing can be blurred and with the correct prescription, you put them on and EVERY THING become CLEAR. If Glasses worked like hearing aids and devices, the things you see would only be bigger but still blurry. Unless the speaker speaks distinctly the sounds is just a louder 'noise'.My hearing doctor states that if public speakers knew HOW MANY of their audience DID not understand what they said they would be more conscience of the problem. The fact is I have asked a much younger person, WHat was that he just said? Many times the answer is, I haven't a clue. You are doing no one a favor by not really communicating. I very seldom mention this to a speaker, I do not want them to think I want them to change for ME! Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Is listen to his own messages. If he uses unfinished sentences, garbled speech, mingled with his own manufactured amens then his message is often lost or at best camouflaged with littered speech
