I carry my Kindle to church. Beulah, just reminded me. I HAD a very good bible on my kindle. IT was cheap or free, I cannot remember. But I hit the WRONG combination of keys (OR something and deleted all my books).I cannot remember the name of it. But it was a simple to search. I could follow most preachers, even if they referred to many scriptures. So far I have not been able to locate the old one or find one as easy to navigate.Does anyone have a suggestion of an uncomplicated searchable Bible for the layman? I don't mind buying it up to $20 but I am just about sure the one I liked was free. The reason I say that, Amazon reloaded everything I had bought, but not the free books I had downloaded. So it could have been one of Amazon's free books.I prefer just the Bible, not too much commentary, Any suggestions? Thanks Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/ |

Holman, I think it was, used to be free on Kindle. My kindle died on me, but search wasn't as good on the one I had as using a paper Bible. If you downloaded your files to your amazon account, you may be able to retrieve them all |

I did that and they reloaded everything I had bought, and the Bible did not come back. The Bible I had was simple, easy. When you called it up. It showed up with the last scripture I had read in the top half and three 'scrollable columns below. BOOK CHAPTER VERSE All I had to do was touch the book name, scroll to the chapter touch and scroll to verse and touch and I was there. Simple enough for me. I am on the net via cell all the time, so it is slow. I am trying to down load the one Carolyn recommended right now. I am sure the Kindle will hold a complicated commentary and concordance, but it would be cumbersome methinks.Any thanks Link. I will get back with the e-sword. I am trying to down load this one now. This is sorta funny. I have 5 or 6 bibles down loaded. I need to delete them, I have to figure how to do that on the Kindle. Deleting a Bible isn't as much trouble as getting rid of the written word. That is sorta like the American flag to destroy. I feel bad about the Old Bibles I have, so they are never used, but are in storage. LOLThanks for the suggestion. Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/ |

YouVersion is the one I've used for years. I would -venture- to say it is one of the most popular. You might want to check that one out to see if that suits your needs.www.youversion.com/(disclaimer: I received no compensation for this endorsement. |
