At some of the COG's (Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) churches) in Indonesia, if there is an altar call, they will play worship music, sometimes so loud people up front being prayed for may not be able to hear the prayer. Even if the preacher is prophesying over people, they often still blast the music.Before my wife and I got married, right after I'd really made up my mind to propose and it was a settled issue for me, a preacher called my future-wife and myself up to the front and prophesied about how we would go many places and minister to many people. The music was blasting so loud, we had to strain to hear.The preacher can singal to lower the sound of the music, or to stop it. That's socially acceptable, but the musicians would probably ignore the person who made the request if he or she signalled that.I believe if someone is prophesying, the music should stop and we should all listen. Prophesying is for the edification of the church. Even if a personal prophecy is given, it might edify that individual more, but it is also for the edification of the church. The church can also weigh carefully what is said and witness the prophecy.Have any of you experienced something similar with the US with the music being too loud and continuing on in such a way that it hinders other ministry? A lot of GBIs seem a bit more culturally Charismatic than Pentecostal, and some of them call themselves 'Karismatik'

Link, I have always thought if GOD has a message embedded in something said, IT WOULD BE HEARD BY THE ONE (S) it is meant for.At times it is hard to hold to that belief when I am straining to hear the words of a song or a message.It is probably just an OLD MAN's opinion, but most church music is too loud.
