So I thought I would see what your thoughts are on this subject.Bananas...What is the truth about them?I've read articles saying to eat two bananas a day because they were loaded with vitamins and other great things for the body and mind, but my wife told me this morning that bananas were bad for you because they keep fat around the belly and she won't touch them. |

On the other hand, the protein in the peanut butter might be just the thing to offset that spike in blood sugar Da Sheik mentioned.I do like a peanut butter and banana sandwich from time to time. |

I thought I remembered seeing a news headline that Danica Patrick liked peanut butter and banana sandwiches, too. In this excerpt of her food diary, you will find some bananas. She has no belly fat, but that's probably because of her overall diet and workout regimen.ftw.usatoday.com/2015/12/how-to-eat-like-a-nascar-driver-according-to-danica-patrick |

[quote=bonnie knox]I often see ads on the web that have words like foods you should never eat, weird trick to cut belly fat, foods that cause belly fat, etc., etc. Often I see a picture of a banana with some of the captions. I NEVER click on those things. |

Unless you have some unusual medical condition, maybe bananas could be bad for you. If you are trying to cut out all carbs and get 'cut', bananas probably wouldn't help much. That's a 'first world problem.' I'm trying not to become a banana snob. When you get one of those small very sweet bananas that have blackening skin but are perfectly ripe on the inside, that ripened on the tree or right after it was picked, it's hard to fully appreciate the larger bananas commercialized in the US that have been picked green that turned yellow in a refrigerated shipping container on a boat somewhere or hanging in a grocery store. Fresher bananas are sweeter. They look rotten if you are used to the look of bananas that were picked green. There are sweeter varieties than the ones in the US |
