| I am not sure why God has chosen a Church in Florence, KY to do these things but he has. We have been privileged to have many Hispanic folks attend our church over the years. One is Tito Ramirez who is now pastoring a church in El-Salvador and just recently, another family who has extended family in Chapas Mexico. On the first occasion we contacted then Missions director Tim Hill to help us with Tito who had been deported back to El-Salvador. Bishop Hill put me in touch with E. David Ramirez, who put me in touch with Otoniel Collins and several others. The result is a new Church in El-Salvador pastored by my buddy Tito Ramirez. Tito and his leaders in El-Salvador are currently working to purchase the land they have been meeting on for service. This second occasion we have a man in our church, Bernardo DelaCruz who has a grandmother in Chapas Mexico. She has not been happy with the church she has been attending so Bernardo asked what the Church of God can do for her. This time I sent a message to E David Ramirez who put me in touch with Pastor Julio Melendez who contacted Bernardo's grandmother within a matter of days and from what I understand met with her last night. They are working with this Grandmother and 6 other families who are looking for a new church in the area. I am impressed by this quick action. All that was said to say this, there is a ton of negative talk about the CoG on this site but rarely are there stories of the great things that happen through this large denomination. Because my church in Florence, KY is part of the CoG, we have been able to touch lives in San Salvador El-Salvador and now Chapas Mexico. The Mission Church of God and it's members are happy to be part of this large soul saving movement! |
