Actually, 2 out of the first 7, are in Texas!Chris Binion in RockwallAubrey Robertson in Hudson OaksWe also have a new church plant launching in Corpus Christi under the umbrella of Eli Bonilla and Abundant Life - San Antonio. Gabriel Colmanero is the man there.Very humble beginnings after a couple of decades of only planting two churches in our state that were true plants and still thriving: Mark Crawford at Frisco and Don Lott's Outdoorsmen Church in Midlothian. They are both doing a great work! Our new GO really cares about church planting! So do guys like Travis Johnson that have championed this stuff for awhile. I am very humbled to be a friend to Aubrey and am excited about what God and the COG are doing there. We need more but this is a start Proverbs 3:5-6; John 13:34-35; Acts 1:8

AJ troller is one of the seven church planters who were initially funded. He is planting in Washington state. Almost half of the church plants are being planted west of the Mississippi. Madison, Alabama is a town that is absolutely exploding. The opportunity is right. The leader is right. Half of the battle is getting the right person in the right place at the right time. That's what's happening there for sure. Church planting is incredibly hard stuff. I think if anybody has shot at making A great go of it, Michael and Janah Williams do. Yesterday was a good day.

This is fantastic news Brandon!Rockwall should have had a church years ago. I agree! We've also closed 60+ churches in the last 20-25 years in Texas. We must plant and revitalize or die Proverbs 3:5-6; John 13:34-35; Acts 1:8

With all due respect Texas isn't exactly the West as we westerners here on the left coast would proclaim.Exciting to hear about the new church plants but to picture another new church planted in Alabama where we have hundreds & hundreds of churches already is not what I call visioneering. But who am I ...right?I'm just a pastor in the central valley of California where my church is on a district where our entire 3 churches in 2 counties cover 2,941 sq. miles. The 10 closest towns around me that are within 20 minutes or less of each other & they make up a population base of over 700,000 people ...talk about a great need. Very excited about the state of Washington church planters & I hope they do exceptionally well.May the day come before my days are over where we see the CoG make a concerted effort to send teams of church planters to California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada & Arizona. May we be overwhelmed with dynamic talent & excited disciples who are more interested in a missional calling & less attracted in pleasing the leaders of their denomination. Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!Email me at: [email protected] planters are focused on just one thing ...introducing people to Jesus!

Lol at anyone saying Texas isn't the West.OP posed the question West of the Mississippi... Texas qualifies across the board. State pride aside- I'm with you Dean. We need to plant churches in AZ, CA, CO, ID, KS, MT, ND, NE, NV, OK, OR, SD, UT, WA, and WY. Let's include AL and HI Proverbs 3:5-6; John 13:34-35; Acts 1:8 |
