The gift of management is required for successful ministry. In Luke 19the word says Occupy until I come. It means to take care of business. Some spiritual people thinks God is suppose to do everything, but I believe God responses to faithful people. Why would God bless what He knows you are going to waste? I don’t just pray God help me be a good preacher. I also pray God help me be a good Steward. I really appreciate Ministry leaders with a gift of management. Good preachers can destroy a church if they don’t manage well

Brother DM, you have said a truth my man! So many of God's people have been put under stress and guilt because of poor management. My hero, my dad, pastored for over 50 years and always considered it important to treat God's money with care and love. We do not want to 'WASTE' God's money! One of his lifelong statement, and I think he adhered to that.Good stuff Moses (But you should never have broken the tablets.) LOL Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

I Corinthians 12 lists administrations right there with being an apostle or prohet...it is definitely a gift or office needed in the Body! And not all pastors have that gift, so they should seek out someone who does for advice if they don't. More of Him...less of me.twitter.com/camiracle77www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=691241499&ref=name

I kinda hate the idea that you are EITHER a leader OR a manager. One of my favorite bloggers is Eric Geiger. He is one of the VP of Lifeway Publishing, was formerly an executive pastor at a large church right up the road form Life Pointe, and wrote the book Simple Church along with some others at this point. To fulfill his roll as an XP and as a VP at Lifeway, he MUST be a good manager. It would be impossible for him to succeed in those roles without great management acumen. However, Ed Stetzer - who has worked with Eric extensively - stated that Eric Geiger is the best LEADER he's ever known. Ed Stetzer is broadly revered by church planters and entrepreneurial types, and has the opinion that a great manager is the best leader he knows.

The title of the original post has an assumption that is not substantiated in any way.Next: I do not know that one (leader/manager) is more or less spiritual than the other - just different.

At a fortune 500 company I worked for - I was given the title of Manager. But they kept sending me to a specific type of class for job enrichment - a leadership class.Bottom line: A good manager must be a leader. One example:Leader's motivate. Bad managers intimidate
