Okay, so Iowa is behind us… who do you like or who would you vote for today? Why?I like Marco. He seems the most genuine to me. He is a true conservative. His values seem real and mostly align with my own.I would vote for Cruz if he ends up our candidate. My one knock on Ted is that he is an attorney’s attorney. He doesn’t seem genuine and he’s a bit of a jerk. That said, I’d vote for him.Finally, O’Malley was the only Dem that I liked. He does seem like a good guy even if we disagree on a bunch. Mike Huckabee is also a good man and we did agree on a lot. I appreciate that they both ran. I hope some of the others get out soon now and that we have a three or four person race.What about you? I like Cruz. I believe he is a man of principle and he would work very hard to get the executive branch back to its constitutional purpose. I would vote for Rubio though I do not like the fact that he did not go back and vote on this last terrible budget that was passed. He is still a Senator and should at least vote. I don’t think that will hurt him at all though. We seem to send people to Washington and forget why we sent them.
Rubio is too naïve. Got in league with McCain – shows his judgment stinks. He will go amnesty immediately – and Democrats will always win. He can’t be trusted________________

I probably have more in common with Cruz.For some reason, I like Rubio. I don’t think he is/would be as bad as some portray.Something about Cruz bugs me…..maybe it is his delivery in making speeches. Too much theater. Too much choreography. For example, his long….drawn out thanks to his mom last night. Just seemed over the top.But with that said, if I had to vote, right now, I would probably vote for Cruz…Even if he doesn’t deliver a great speech, I think his positions are in line with my beliefs________________

Natch…you have a point, Rubio could have won a lot of points with voters had he returned to Washington and made a LOUD statement in his vote AGAINST Obama’s last Bill….by NOT going back and voting against it, it was a vote FOR it, which hurt him. I like the guy, a friend of mine and I had lunch with his Chief of Staff J.R, Sanchez back in 2014 in Washington. He said all the right things, we joked about Rubio running in 2016…Who would have thought….lol Based on what we talked about, Israel and the defense of it, my vote will be for Rubio.

WE are pretty close here. I know it isn’t popular in many places but I like Jeb also. I think he followed the WRONG POLITICAL advice and spent too much time attacking Rubio when he should have been addressing OBAMA, Hillary and the Democratic Administration. Yeah, I guess he is toast.I am still not convinced who to vote for in the FL primary. I guess I will wait to see who is most electable. If Rubio stays in, Trump wins. That simple.Trump lost Iowa. So what?He trailed there for weeks, then he lead for a couple of weeks. Having been convinced he’d lose there , he never set up the important ground game needed to compete effectively. If Iowa had a primary, he would have won.Borders, Language and culture. I know Trumps language will turn off many people. I can live the the language, I have lived with it for years. My wife however gets upset i.e. after the caucus when Trump, We will do what ever the hell it takes in New Hampshire.I know he is supposed to be educated, and I think his degree is genuine, but he comes across as having a 7th grade vocabulary.I do not like nor appreciate coarse language, many of my military bosses used gutter language (some times I think intentionally) to emulate Chesty Puller or Patton. I don’t get why you include Carson on your list. He has no experience at all. He’s even more boring to listen to than Kasich, who may have some of the most relevant experience out of the whole bunch. I think Kasich would probably make a decent president, and aside from the boring Charisma type issues, may be nondivisive enough to beat Hillary in an election. Boring versus likeability problem may work well. But I don’t think he’ll get the nomination. I hope either Rubio or Cruz get the nomination. Cruz does seem rather wooden when making speeches. If it’s Cruz versus Hillary, both may have a ‘likeability’ problem, which may level the playing field on that regard. Rubio seems more likeable to me as a person and more interesting to listen to.I wonder if a Cruz-Rubio or Rubio-Cruz ticket or any ticket with either of them as the presidential nominee would permanently recruit a large number of Hispanics into the Republican party. That could be very good for Republicans, if Hispanics began to think of it as their party. Do Hispanics consider Cubans to be part of their own group, or are they Cuban instead of Mexican, Guatemalan, etc? It’s funny that of the top four from Iowa, there is only one Anglo-Celtic contender and a Hispanic won the most________________

I could get behind Bush, Christie and/or Kasich but I don’t feel that any of them will be standing come nomination time. Thus my list was my order of preference, for now, of the top four coming out of Iowa.I am not Hispanic but my understanding of my friends who are suggests that overall they are actually harder on Hispanic candidates and not as supportive across nationality lines: ie Puerto Ricans of Mexicans or El Salvadorians of Hondurans, etc. I don’t pretend to know why but that is my observation.Some have mentioned Rand Paul in this thread but his stance on Israel the last time I checked him out didn’t really click with me. Where in the Bible does it say we are required to defend Israel militarily? We certainly should not go against them militarily either. But they do have a disproportionate amount of Influence in our Congress. We usually end up endangering them by not letting them defend themselves________________
