I’m tired of so much of it fellers. Preachers expected to be cheerleaders at a pep rally tryin to work up some kinda superficial emotional response or feedback. Seriously, the ole timer is nauseated by it all. Lemme give ya some examples:1. Preacher comes to the podium an starts usin phrases like Slap ya neighbor an yell Jesus, C’mon, saints, raise your hands an claim your miracle, or I can’t git no help up in here. The purpose a all this is to git folk worked up emotionally.2. White preachers walkin to the pulpit an immediately commence talkin in a African-American accent, grovelin voice an all, even though they don’t talk like at in everday life. A few I’ve heard do this: Ron Carpenter Jr, Paula White, Rockin Rod Parsley, et al.

I was in Aog when they had same rules I left them for the legalistic rules, more concerned about makeup than the porn! I would NEVER joined if cog had this still! I glad it went away. And I know many more agree than don’t. But it’s my thoughts on it. I use a morphine/opium derivative for my back injury and kidney stones according to this I would have been kicked out! Of all the stupid things! Hair length? More legalistic claptrap! Tell that to Jesus who had long hair. Jesus is not a taskmaster with a whip sending you to hell if you violate on of these man made dogmas listed. I tried living holiness till Jesus showed how to live by wanting to live to please him not beating people with rules that are not biblical based. Show the other side why the people removed them in the first place.

The fire came on The Day Of Pentecost. They seen forked Tongues of fire sat upon each of them. Some thinks the fire has gone. But in Jeremiah day. He. Said its like fire shut up in my bones. It was there on Pentecost. It’s still here in my bones. Sometimes I can’t hardly keep quiet.the ones who thinks the Fire Of The Holy Ghost is gone. Needs to start fanning the Fire they have left. This week in my reading I came across this line; ” He thundered magnificently but illogically” I never heard Bro Davis but thinking back over the COG preaching I have heard since my youth, so much of their thundering was without logic.
I really don’t understand what you and different ones say so much of their thundering was without logic. Explain what you mean. Is it if they got to excited in church it had no logic. Or do you think it should bra more mild conservative service. I just believe in obeying God. You cant learn that in seminaries. I believe in education learning as much as you can. But the move of the Spirit comes from God. I’m not saying there hasn’t been times along the way that there wasn’t wild fire. And trying to put out the wild fire.Almost put out the real fire. I know the more you know about Gods Word the better we know how to worship Him In Spirit and Truth. I guess in away I understand what you mean.
