Carter was up 8 nationally – IN OCTOBER of 2000. He won 3 or 4 states a month later.Reagan was a clown – bedtime for bonzo – too scary to hold nuke codes – a dunce compared to genius Carter. Then the debates happened.Polls mean nothing right now________________
Trump has zero chance of being elected. I’ve tried and tried to explain it to people, but they don’t get it. The electoral college strongly favors the Democratic Party. Trump wont get 200 electoral vote________________
Trump has zero chance of being elected. I’ve tried and tried to explain it to people, but they don’t get it. The electoral college strongly favors the Democratic Party. Trump wont get 200 electoral votes If Trump’s flaws scare the American voter more than Hillary’s crimes, we deserve what we get. Americans have been brainwashed into holding the GOP to a much higher standard than the Dems. There are too many unqualified people voting________________

Trump wont get 200 electoral votes You are right.Probably no more republicans elected until country gets in worse shape.Freebies for all without work is enticing. At some point – debt will end country.I would have thought 20 trillion – but perhaps the number is 40 trillion.Who knows. But it is coming. The problem is – it was coming with the republicans we have in office anyway – as they did nothing to stop it in the last 16 years. That’s why we have Trump. Regular Republicans time has past – the Ryans/Bushes of the world just haven’t figured it out yet. A new party will form after this election.Tea Party.Cruz.Somebody that will DEMAND the budget get balanced – and will raise taxes or revenue to do it – but not add any spending until it is fixed. No need to vote for the current Republicans – they believe in big debt too – just spend money differently.A balanced budget amendment should have gotten passed. That way tough decisions would have been made years ago – instead of making believe we could spend indiscriminately forever. Less wars when they must be paid for. Less immigrants if they must be paid for. Less waste if it must be paid for. Debt has finished many a person – it will also finish U.S________________
This is one of the stupidest statements ever made.Let’s have poll taxes and literacy requirements.

Less immigrants if they must be paid for. Less waste if it must be paid for. Debt has finished many a person – it will also finish U.S. Lord, hasten the day! Then the States that are worthy can form yet another more perfect Union. In no time they will be back on top economically while their former associate States will wither away and be absorbed by Canada. In spite of the error of slavery (which did not belong to them exclusively) our Southern forebears at least understood the danger of allowing the Federal Government to start snatching more and more tax money to be redistributed to States, cities and businesses for internal improvements that the Constitution does not authorize. By the time the WBTS broke out, the north was depending on these Federal handouts for its economic survival. Thus they were not going to let their cash cow secede from the Union and form a new confederation that would suck capitol and world commerce away from them. But in the end, this system will be the undoing of the USA. But it will also free the States to finally throw of the yoke that has bound them for 150 years. There will be tough times, but what rises from the ashes could be extraordinary________________
This is one of the stupidest statements ever made.Let’s have poll taxes and literacy requirements. How did you get that from his statement? His words are very true, even if politically incorrect________________
This is one of the stupidest statements ever made.Let’s have poll taxes and literacy requirements. Nobody said anything about a poll tax. But one certainly should be able to pass a test demonstrating they have basic knowledge of history and the Constitution to be eligible to vote. I stand by that statement. As for literacy requirements, not a bad idea________________

The only thing the Constitution says about voting as a right is in 15th and 19th Amendments directly and the 14th Amendment indirectly. One cannot have their voting rights taken away based on race, religion and gender. That’s it. The States don’t even have to allow a direct vote for President to choose electors for the Electoral College________________

Was that ruling based on political activism or the text of the Constitution? A Federal Court also just ruled that requiring a photo ID to vote is racially motivated and violates the Constitution somehow? Does that make it so? The literacy test ruling had more to do with the ability to read and write, not knowledge of the Constitution.Patrick, why would you want someone who has no appreciation or understanding of our Constitution being granted power to overthrow it through the ballot box________________
There is no Constitutional right to vote. What it says that you cannot discriminate on who gets to vote. So, you cannot decide that only men that own property can vote. If they do, others have a right as well.
That is exactly right. No right to vote, but if there is a vote, it must be applied equally. Literacy tests were found to be unequal in application and intent. Ok, make them equal in application and intent________________

Ok, make them equal in application and intent. No, I don’t think that is possible and I don’t want to pay tax dollars to oversee such a thing. Way too much abuse with anything like that. Also, I think the intent was clearly to keep a certain group out of the voting process, just as yours is. I guess that to pass your test you’d have to be just like you. It will (thankfully) never happen.
